Cultivation

Sowing in April into the ground. It has small climatic requirements, needs moist soil and light. She likes a sunny position. It blooms from June to September.

Application

For flowerbeds as edible flower. The plant looks and tastes the best before and during flowering. Young, yet not hairy leaves and stalk, finely chopped, are used as a condiment for salads and curd. Taste and smell like cucumbers. Fresh leaves give a wonderful, gentle taste of refreshing summer drinks. Blue flowers, candied by the brush gently painted with egg white and sprinkled with sugar - can be a wonderful decoration of cakes. They can also be frozen in ice cubes, as an original addition to drinks. Borage is also cultivated as a medicinal plant.
