Mirabilis jalapa
Beauty-of-the-night / four o'clock
Mirabilis jalapa it is annual plant with thick and stiff stems. Large trumpet flowers, with an intense, sweet fragrance. They sprout on cloudy days, but on sunny days just after sunset and they are splayed out all night. Mirabilis is also called the "four o'clock" because its flowers open at about 4’P.M. It is a fluorescent plant - flower petals, especially produce greenish yellow light.

Cultivation
Sowing in April under cover or directly into the ground in May. The soil should be slightly acidic to slightly alkaline, moist, well-drained and fertile. It likes a sunny and half-shaded position. It blooms July to September.
